Palm Beach Vacation - Kennedy Space Center

Hands down, best day of the vacation, but really...how could it not.  We had all...wait, me and the boys have dreamed of coming to Kennedy, and seeing the actual launch sites for the shuttles and even the rockets sent to the moon.  This is really one of the few places you can see such an amazing historical achievement combined with the potential for the future.  Ok, ok...Oh and we saw the Space-X factory...Oh and the Blue Origin factory...and the coolest thing was walking beside Atlantis.  This was amazing for space fans.  Can't describe it...Just a super cool place to visit.  We were there parked on the very front row 30 minutes prior to opening, and left at closing.  And still missed one entire building.

We went into one show that had a view of the Earth from the moon.  Ruby said in excitement "Woah, The Moon".  Magan then corrected her..."No, Ruby that is the Earth".  Ruby replied in excitement "Woah, an Earth Moon"

Sam, Davis, and I got to meet Jack Lousma, who was an astronaut on Skylab 3 and on the third shuttle mission (Columbia).  It was really cool, because me and the boys had gotten to talk to a NASA engineer in Huntsville that had worked on Skylab.  Mr. Lousma told us that skylab was much more fun because he was in space for almost two months.  He was actually one of the later ones that were in line for Apollo missions...and in his 80s one of the last living of that group of astronauts.

So just a few stories to keep in the memory bank...We all got to touch a lunar rock, and were immediately reminded by all there that we should probably immediately wash our hands...The shuttle experience was pretty fun, but Ruby was not big enough, but she was able to watch us from "mission control", and even gave her brothers and sister a little wave as they rode...as we were leaving Cape Canaveral and our Residence Inn, Ruby got those pictures below and she had a "coffee" to take with her on the rode.  Well, I turned around and it was time to leave and I saw coffee all spilled on the ground.  I had no idea what happened, and by the time I asked Magan about it...Ruby and her big brother Dave had both came back with towels and cleaned up the spill.  Proud mom and dad moment.  Kids that realize they made a mess, and worked without being asked to clean it up quickly and efficiently...And I am always amazed at Sam's creations just based on what he sees.  I really have no creativity like this.  Always fun to see what he makes.
