And we finally get to our one day of Disney. It was a nice break in the week, especially since we got to sleep a little later, and get to visit a different park. We started our day driving over to the Contemporary to park for the night, and since our Chef Mickey reservation was for 11:40, we had some extra time to ride the monorails. We visited EPCOT on the monorails, and got to see all the fun stuff going on over there. Then back to our hotel for lunch. It was a fun magical lunch with these characters...and somewhat sad also that the magic of these character meals is fading. The food is great, but you are definitely not paying for the food, just these moments at your table with a character. I remember them being so excited, and one even dancing around the room with a Donald Duck one time...I remember the big hugs on Pooh and Eeyore...but alas, those days are not gone, but fading. I do know what the bill looks like, and that gives me a smile to know that those days of that level of meal prices may be over. :)
After the meal, we still had some time before we got into the park, so we visited around in the stores at the contemporary, then at the Polynesian...and found some really comfy seats in the Polynesian (That is the place to take a nap if you are ever wondering). And then our time came to go into the park and we hit every perfect line you could hit that put us on main street by 3:50PM. Memory Maker purchased...Sorcerer Cards received...time to hit some attractions...no parades or shows for us tonight, all rides as this was our only time in the Magic Kingdom.
So first for the not so fun stuff, unless you like stats and touring plans...so with no fast passes, but much shorter lines, we were able to hit 17 rides/attractions with two character lines. And the route was as follows: Tiki Birds, Magic Carpets, In then out of line for Pirates, Splash Mountain, Chip and Dale, In then out of line for Pirates, Haunted Mansion, It's a Small World, Philharmagic, Little Mermaid, Dumbo, Auto Speedway, break for hot cocoa and cookies, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Jingle Cruise (Yes, it was the holiday special in the dark), Moana, Pirates...yes, finally an agreeable line, and Thunder Mountain twice.
And for the fun memories...I saw Ruby stretching her foot on a curb on this morning just like her mom has to do for the plantar fasciitis...Ruby was pinching my cheeks and said "Daddy has cute little nipples", meaning dimples...we were stuck on the Buzz Lightyear ride, so we were all trying to rack up points, but of course Davis scored highest...Mom ordering the Dole Whip Float without the key word of Float, but then getting us double do to her mistake...Ruby just LOVED getting to drive a car on the speedway...And sweet Belle getting soaked on our first ride of the night at Splash Mountain. I have always gotten a little wet, but never as wet as she got, but she was a trooper and never complained one bit, haha, you can tell she is pretty wet in many of these pictures below.
We stayed till closing and in the stores till almost 1AM. Magan made Belle's day by running back into an area that we were being kicked out of to get Belle a bracelet she wanted. Belle, do you remember how sad you were and then how happy your mom made you by doing this...go give her a hug when you read this, she deserves it. And we said our final goodbye as we left, and probably could have made the last resort monorail, but another failure in leading our group, we starting walking back to the contemporary...which looks so close, but it so far away. Magan and the kids really made up a song and starting singing "When we wish upon a star, will it get us to the car", they even had more, but that is all we could remember. We left with some magic, and some sore feet, and many many cookies, and hunger as I would not let us stop for the free stuff...so some burgers at McDonalds around 1:30AM and back in bed by 2AM...Long day...
